You are absolutely correct, Dusty Maye was always going to leave. This offer might have came sooner than anybody thought. But between this offer and the current state of college basketball, the man had no choice.

There is NO basketball or football championship without Warde. A. Jim would have been fired for the 2020 season and performance to date against OSU. B. Dusty would not have been hired.
And did quite poorly. Its college basketball you rebuild in a year. Getting locked in with a bad coach isn't worth keeping the gang together one more season. If anyone should understand this it should be Michigan.

Nope, Dusty may lift because he wanted to go to the NBA. Also because the current condition of college basketball is insane.
A little research will tell you that Boynton is an awful coach. An assistant coach at a school like Michigan is the perfect gig for him because he is an amazing recruiter. That’s all he can do though.
