On October 12, 2019, South Carolina beat Georgia 20-17 in double overtime in Athens.
Will Muschamp, South Carolina head coach
Rodrigo Blankenship has been and is an unbelievable representative of the University of Georgia, and kicker, and my heart goes out to him in losing in that fashion. He’s an outstanding young man, and he’s about all the right things in college athletics.

It says a lot about the culture of our program, the leadership in our program, the players in our program and the future of our program.
Our kids fought their (tails) off, you can’t question that, and how hard they play
What Georgia said
Kirby Smart, Georgia head coach
We didn’t do that. They played physical and attacked us. We’ve got to go out and help our players, and that starts with me.
We support him, we love him. There’s other games we wouldn’t have won without him.
Rodrigo Blankenship, Georgia kicker
They’ve got my back no matter what happens
