The game
It took a fourth-quarter rally from a double-digit deficit and four overtimes, but No. 3 Alabama defeated rival Auburn 24-22 on the road in the Iron Bowl to finish the regular season with an 11-1 record.
Auburn ran out the rest of the clock to go to the first overtime in Iron Bowl history.
Kool-Aid McKinstry tipped away T.J. Finley’s pass in the final OT and Young hit Metchie just as he did in the previous one.
