FBS Independents' median team rates +26.1 points above Mountain West's median on a neutral field — that's the full gap between the strongest and weakest FBS conference by median SP+. Median shows central strength; internal spread (the width of each curve) shows how much a conference's own teams disagree with that median. A conference can be strong and lopsided (one great team, then a cliff) or modest and consistent — the shape says which.
